Beauty Asylum Travels to Italy for a Destination Wedding
Owner and artist Jessica Kendall packed up her wedding hair and makeup kit for her third European destination wedding—this time to the breathtaking countryside of Chianciano Terme, Italy. With a large bridal party on the schedule, Jessica brought along additional lead stylists from the Beauty Asylum team to ensure every beauty detail was flawlessly executed. The team stayed in a charming villa just 15 minutes from the iconic wedding venue, La Foce, where the celebration unfolded in true Tuscan elegance.

The Bridal Preview & Trial
Jessica first connected with bride Katie for a bridal preview in November 2020 in Atlanta, GA. Although Jessica is based in Charlotte, NC, she frequently travels to Atlanta, which made scheduling a trial during the holiday season seamless. The session was held at Katie’s family home in Buckhead—perfectly timed ahead of their engagement dinner that evening.
Katie initially chose traditional makeup to test the longevity of the application throughout the night. After the trial, she shared feedback that it began to shine sooner than expected. With Jessica’s expertise in both techniques, they decided to switch to airbrush makeup for wedding day to achieve a longer-lasting, flawless finish.
Postponements & Adjustments Due to COVID
Just months after Katie’s trial, the pandemic escalated, forcing her and her fiancé to postpone their destination wedding in Italy—not once, but twice. With ongoing uncertainty around international travel and guest safety, they made the tough decision to move their celebration to August 25, 2021, ensuring their loved ones could attend without concern.
In the meantime, the couple held an intimate stateside ceremony, where the Beauty Asylum Atlanta team provided hair and makeup services. Katie officially made the switch to airbrush makeup for the event—and she absolutely loved the results.
The Big Day in Italy
Fast forward a year later, the Beauty Asylum team boarded a 10-hour flight to Italy to glam Katie and her bridal party for the welcome dinner, rehearsal, and wedding day. Katie thoughtfully curated a series of chic, elegant looks to reflect her timeless style—each one brought to life flawlessly by Jessica.
The experience was nothing short of unforgettable, blending beauty, travel, and celebration in one of the most breathtaking destinations in the world.
